Based on the stock bore, stroke, and rod length configuration of the venerable 302 Ford, these kits are based on the 3.000 factory stroke crankshaft. They are perfectly suited as stock replacement, or they can be set up with minor boost or increased compression for high performance street or street and strip combinations.
Flat top pistons in a 306 Ford engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 9.0:1 range which makes them a good option for engines with cast iron heads as well as boosted engines with aluminum heads. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to slightly over .600 valve.
