Available Combinations for the VPE Chevrolet 380 Stroker are 4.125, 4.155, 4.165 and 4.185 bore with a 3.500 stroke crankshaft in the conventional 4.125 bore block. Crankshafts are either Cast Steel or 4340 Forged Steel. Crankshaft models feature 2.648 main journals and 2 piece rear main seals. Connecting rods are stroker clearance versions. As always Custom Combinations are no problem.




Flat Top
Flat top pistons in a 380 inch Chevrolet engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 10.75:1 range which makes them a good option for engines with aluminum heads or larger cc iron heads. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to over .650 valve lift.

Domed pistons in a 380 inch Chevrolet engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 12.50:1 range which makes them a good option for naturally engines naturally aspirated engines and aluminum heads where use of race gas is acceptable. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to over .650 valve lift.
